1978 45' Morgan 452

Rock Hall, MD

What's in a name?  Rockhopper is one of the most adventurous and intrepid penguin breeds!

THIS beckons her next adventurous owners.  She is a handsome, classic, strong and proven cruising vessel with comfortable living features and serious sailing abilities.

The current owners have made many improvements, changes and painted her beautiful dark hull.  This includes : solar panels, engine, generator, refrigeration, composting head, new tanks and more!

They moved off her in May 2021 and she is currently on the hard.  While on the hard, she's getting some maintenance and re-touches.

Your efforts and vision will enable her to continue a long term cruising lifestyle with you at the helm.

Don't pass up this opportunity to cruise, live aboard or go off the grid in classic and affordable style.

Photos are representative of Rockhopper while cruising and currently on the hard.  More photos upon request.

Rockhopper Accomodations

Welcome Aboard Rockhopper!

Serious sailors, cruisers, and liveaboards will love Rockhopper!

From the companionway you will enter her spacious salon. To port is the dedicated nav station and chart table.

Forward of the nav station is a comfortable straight settee. Opposite the port settee is a dinette with U-shaped settee.   This provides a generous dining, entertaining and relaxing area. A Whiskey Locker is part of the clever cabinetry and it's within easy reach of the dining and entertainment seating.

An artist friend designed and painted the aquatic life interior mast cover.  Not only is it a beautiful piece of art, but it's padded, insulated and provides a method to help keep the interior warmer.

Aft of the dinette is a large gourmet U-shaped galley.  Food storage, refrigeration, and preparation solutions are enjoyable and guaranteed.

On the port side leading aft from the nav station is a full height passage to the owner's stateroom. In the passage area is storage with a counter. Double doors opposite the counter offer access to the engine room.

The owner's stateroom features an athwartships standard full berth. A comfortable high quality mattress makes sleeping on board and at anchor a comfort and pleasure.

Forward on the starboard side is the owner's composting head and sink.  Just forward of the head is the separate shower and tub!

Moving out of the stateroom and forward of the salon to port is another nice stateroom. Between the forward stateroom and saloon on the starboard side is a converted storage area.

Composting Head in Aft Cabin

Because the current owners are liveaboards and serious cruisers, a composting head was installed in the aft cabin.  This relieved their concerns about "No Discharge Zones".  The original plumbing and holding tank has been removed to accommodate this system.

The original forward head has been converted to a storage area.  This current storage area can be easily converted to another composting head.

The owners are very satisfied with this decision and report no problems, operational issues or odors.
