Description
1990 47' New Horizon, known colloquially as a Tradewinds on the East Coast, this vessel has a fully fiber glassed hull to - deck joint, meaning NO FASTENERS to leak. Fiberglass nonskid decks make it very easy to maintain, with only a touch of teak rails just outside the cabin for some class and color. This 47 trawler has been impeccably maintained and updated by the current owner of six years…this vessel is turn-key and ready to cruise. New Horizon was used as a display for Tradewinds at many boat shows and is the finest Tradewinds 47 that you will ever see! This boat has done the ICW from the Chesapeake to the Panhandle of Florida. Not only has she done the ICW to Florida, but she is fully capable of completing the Great Loop. This three-owner boat has spent her whole life on the Upper Chesapeake. Easily board starboard boarding gate to sliding glass door to saloon, or board through port or starboard boarding gates aft to wide walkways, then up two steps and through glass windowed doors to fully enclosed aft deck. Aft deck also has center transom door accessed by ladder to swim platform. Aft deck has zippered enclosure with a teak and holly sole, wet bar and stainless sink, two locker storage below and a space (with hookups) to add a washing machine and ice maker. The swim platform gives access to the tender with and a Sea Wise davit system.
From the aft deck up two steps through door to fully enclosed flybridge with L shape settees port and starboard, and a centerline helm. Zippered enclosures offer breeze and access to top deck aft. Fabulous design offering full air and 360 views from flybridge and aft deck. Upper station electronics Ritchie compass, Garmin Chartplotter, Raytheon Auto Pilot, Garmin VHF, Fusion stereo system, and much more.
From the aft deck, down four wide steps to saloon, or you may also enter from the starboard sliding door by the lower helm. Her salon is finished with beautiful wood and parquet sole throughout. Starboard is full size three cushion reclining sofa, port offers two blue swivel bucket chairs with end table between, Samsung smart television, as well as ample storage lockers. Parquet sole, large opening windows port and starboard, opening door starboard and large window port. Three panel front windshield.
Down three steps to the galley with built-in sea foam dinette and Formica hi-lo table, that converts into a berth when lowered and with opening portlight. Starboard is U shaped galley with full size refrigerator/freezer, expansive countertops, large double stainless sink, three burner electric stove and oven, microwave, several drawers and lockers, opening portlight and parquet sole.
Moving forward to guest head port with electric flush toilet, vanity with sink, large opening portlight and second door to forward stateroom. Forward stateroom has walk around queen bed with storage underneath, ensuite access to guest head, four opening portlights and screened opening overhead hatch, hanging locker, vanity desk and additional storage.
Moving aft from the saloon down four steps to the master stateroom with walk around king bed, built in nightstands and dressers port and starboard, four opening portlights, hanging lockers and ensuite master head. Master head has a sink, full walk-in shower with bifold door, electric flush toilet and opening portlight.
On deck you’ll find a custom-made bow pulpit with two anchors. A CQR and windlass connected Ultra chrome plow anchor to provide plenty of holding power. She boasts a beautiful “Marine Trader” placard just below the bridge. She comes with white and black screening to reflect or collect heat, depending on your location and weather.
She’s powered by twin 6BTA Cummings powerplants providing 250 horsepower each. The current owners have put a total of 396 hours on her since purchase in 2015. The house is powered by an Onan generator. Owner had a complete engine, transmission, and generator survey conducted prior to purchase in 2015.
