Description
Offering year-round boating comfort, trawler-like livability and motoring performance, simple and versatile sailing and legendary IP quality and value, the award winning Island Packet SP Cruiser Mark II is sure to deliver on all counts. This very lightly used SP is in excellent condition, nicely equipped and ready for more adventures.
Among many unique features are the SP Cruiser’s twin cockpits. One aft, perfect for the morning’s first cup of coffee, plus one forward—just the right place for a group to sit while cruising or at anchor on a beautiful day. Large CE Category A – Ocean rated opening windows in the enclosed deckhouse offer panoramic views and generous ventilation, while the center windshield panel hinges upward to allow socializing with family and friends in the forward cockpit while underway.
Control of this vessel is made easy and comfortable with an adjustable dual bench helm seat, plus a large console forward of the wheel for engine controls and instrumentation. An autopilot gives you the ability to steer the boat from virtually any location aboard with a wireless handheld control. And with the dual-purpose bench seat from the aft cockpit moved into the salon and the L-shaped settee surrounding the folding table, this is a wonderful spot to have a meal or play a game of cards with everyone, regardless of what the weather is doing outside.
A simplified, self-tending roller furling sloop rig has sail controls led to electric winches under the aft cockpit. The StoWinches™ allow both the main and jib to be trimmed in and out with just a push of a button. Electric furling on the jib, main and reacher are all controlled from the aft cockpit.
The SP Cruiser MK II features a new hull form, providing increased hull speed and virtually level running under power, even at full throttle. The large fuel tank allows extended range with moderate fuel consumption when the winds die. Naturally, one can also augment powering performance with the sails, increasing speed and/or reducing fuel usage.
Exterior teak is used only on several small step surfaces in order to minimize maintenance. The interior is a pleasant combination of designer laminate surfaces and varnished furniture quality hardwood. The deckhouse sole is varnished hardwoods, stateroom areas are fitted with Berber-style oatmeal color marine carpet, and the galley, nav/office and head are molded slip resistant surfaces.
The interior accommodations of the SP Cruiser MK II are especially spacious. Below you’ll find the owner’s stateroom forward with a queen-sized island berth and two hanging lockers. Just aft and to starboard is a large head and separate stall shower with private access from either side. Aft is a guest stateroom with two single berths, a large hanging locker and an array of storage cabinets. A kit is available from the factory to make this one large queen-sized double if desired.
Whether you’re exploring coastal waterways or making extended passages, the award-winning SP Cruiser offers all climate comfort with efficient and stable motoring and easily managed sailing.

For 29 years, Bill was the public “face” of Island Packet Yachts to customers, dealers and industry members worldwide. A well-known speaker at boat shows, owner rendezvous' and marine-industry events, Bill had joined the fledgling boat builder in 1987, fulfilling a wide variety of roles over the years including customer service, dealer acquisition and training, sales, marketing, and quality assurance. Bill first got hooked on sailing at the age of 13 after sailing a Sunfish across the crystal-clear waters of Montego Bay, Jamaica. After graduating from college, he bought his first new boat, a Hobie 16, started a sailing school with a friend, and on a first date with his future wife, won the Hobie 16 Tri-State Championship with her as crew. After several years working as a marine patrol officer for the state of Ohio, Bill began selling yachts and teaching sailing for a Lake Erie dealership. He moved to Florida a few years later, where his new-boat sales acumen included models from companies such as Tartan, Pearson, C&C, S-2, Cal, Catalina, Beneteau, Morgan, Endeavour and, of course, Island Packet. Bill served nine years on the board of Sail America, including two terms as president, and was selected to be one of three judges for the 2018 Cruising World magazine Boat of the Year competition. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Yacht Broker’s Association of America as Vice President, and is a Certified Professional Yacht Broker. His in-depth knowledge of the industry and keen focus on customer relations make him a valued addition to the S&J Yachts team.
