BRAND NEW LISTING!!! Shemara is a "10" and features Complete Furling Systems, Reverse Cycle Heat and Air Conditioning, Rub Rail, Max Prop, Electric Halyard Winch & LOTS OF UPGRADES!!!!! This is the VERY BEST BENETEAU 40 I have seen in quite a while.
She has been meticulously cared for and is always extremely clean with everything always in its place. A medical issue keeps Shemara from being used as intended. Seller has lived aboard the past two seasons in the fresh waters of the Susquehanna River.
This is the single head version of the Oceanus 40 with two super comfortable cabins, a single head with a separate Shower Stall, a more efficient "U" shaped Galley and a better designed saloon.
Like all of the Beneteaus, she is a modern performance cruiser with great performance, safety and comfort utilizing the newest materials and design options.
Shemara will get you to your favorite "gunkhole' or quickly around the cans.

The Beneteau Oceanus 40 was offered with two floor plans: a cramped 3-Cabin, 2-Head & Hull Side Galley or a large Single Head, Two Cabin and "U" Shaped Port Side Aft Galley. Shemara is the preferred, much larger feeling yacht with a single Head with shower stall, large Aft Cabin and Traditional Galley. The Saloon also appears much larger and more efficiently designed than the 3-Cabin Version. The overall affect is a pleasantly inviting, light and airy private yacht with 2 wonderful, private spaces for owners and guests. All Cabins have large opening hatches with screens and/or shades. All upholstery is the Beneteau upgraded ultra suede.
Beginning at the bow is a wide open Forward Cabin with more than enough room for a couple to comfortably spend the night. There are 2 lockers with hanging sections for all that they is needed and a clever night stand/desk for dressing and working. The Berth is a large & comfy 6'-6" x 5'-3" berth with high density foam mattress. And, you have 6'-3" Headrooom.
Saloon follows with large settees. A good sized convertible Dining/Sleeping Table on starboard with good room to move around.
A well designed Head featuring separate shower stall with both a Saloon and Aft Cabin Entrance. The electrical commode is fully automatic. You can choose beween raw or fresh water commode intake to further reduce unpleasant hose odors .
The Aft Cabin is entered on starboard aft of Dining Area. The private entrance to the Head gives the aft cabin the feel of an owner's suite. This is a Queen sized berth (6'-10" x 4'-11") with a hanging locker and shelving for your gear. A place for all of your needs
On port, aft of Saloon is the aft facing Nav Station with a good sized desk and space for all of your "stuff" to figure out where exactly you are.
The efficient, well planned Galley is behind the Nav Station with double stainless steel sink, Force 10 gimballed 2-burner stove w/oven, 4.55 cu' Vitrefrigio front opening 12V Refrigeration, 2 cu' top loading freezer, Contour 110V Microwave and lots of shelving and storage.
The Beneteau Oceanus 40 has a 110V Shorepower and a 12V Ship electrical system.

I have been lucky to be near the water all my life. As a kid, I fished and waterskied on Rehoboth Bay, and as a teenager I learned to sail a Sunfish on the Chesapeake off Howell Point. I became a Sea Explorer and was introduced to both sailboat racing and cruising. I later joined the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary teaching sailing in Wilmington and Newark, Delaware. I have raced and cruised and made yacht deliveries up and down the East Coast. My time on the water has always been very important to me.
After college, a stint in the Air Force, a period of public service, bicycle racing and ownership of the Admore Bike Shop, I joined the marine industry in 1988. Initially, I sold Hunters, Catalinas, and Morgans before moving with my wife, Janet, in 1994 to Rock Hall, Maryland, to join Gratitude Yachting Center and then, in 2013, S&J Yachts. I have been selling yachts for a quarter of a century. With these 25 years of experience, I can help you make the very best yacht selection – matching your plans and dreams to your new sail or power yacht.
