Bryan’s affinity for water began in Avalon, NJ, where he fell in love with fishing and sailing on the back bays. His introduction to sailing was with a modest sunfish, and he honed his skills sailing and water skiing with his brothers on the Chesapeake Bay. His passion led him westward to Wyoming, where he continued his love for the outdoors on jet skis, water skis to snow skis. Eventually settling in North Carolina, Bryan now races U 20, Flying Scot, J 22, and enjoys cruising on a Hunter 34.
Kim and Bryan’s shared love for the water blossomed when they met on Lake Norman. Kim’s started boating in Florida, racing J 24s Hobie 16s and boat owner of a center console fishing boat. After meeting Bryan, her sailing journey continued in North Carolina. Kim holds ASA 101, 103, 104 certifications and a US Sailing Small Boat Instructor qualification. Both Kim and Bryan are certified race officers with US Sailing, having participated in race management. They had a trip Greece on a 72-foot monohull and multiple Caribbean trips on catamarans, and cruising from the Bahamas to the Chesapeake and along the Florida coast.
Beyond their maritime pursuits, Kim and Bryan bring a wealth of experience in sales and marketing, embodying an entrepreneurial spirit. They are dedicated volunteers at Lake Norman Yacht Club, with Bryan serving as dock master and Kim as fleet captain and Rear Commodore. Kim helped develop a Woman on the Water sailing lessons at LNYC. They both enjoy pickleball when not using or working on their boats. Bryan’s knowledge around engines, fiberglass and rigging comes from rehabbing many boats over the years. Their network along the East Coast, from Florida’s west coast to Maine’s Kennebunkport, ensures they can assist you in buying or selling a boat with professionalism and integrity.
