Al grew up on St. Croix and learned to sail on Sunfish, later competing in one-design and PHRF races. Never far from the water, he cruised on the East, West and Gulf coasts, and was also on the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Soling team during the Los Angeles Olympics. He and his wife, Mary, were fortunate enough to cruise for a year with their two daughters and son on an East Coast adventure which took them from Maine to the Bahamas aboard a Beneteau 411. Some of Al’s most enjoyable experiences have been times he has spent with his family on various sail and power boats they have owned over the years.
Al completed a career in the U.S. Navy with engineering, deck and program management experience. He was responsible for navigation and piloting in the U.S. and overseas on destroyers, frigates and air-cushion vehicles. He also has a U.S.C.G. Master’s License.
From personal experience, Al understands that buying and selling can be one of the most exciting and stressful times in a boater’s journey. His goal is to completely understand your needs and professionally support you — he sees assisting his clients in meeting their dreams as a true privilege.
Al has considerable knowledge of shallow draft yachts and currently cruises and races in the New Bern, N.C. area.
