Jason Burford is a dedicated yacht broker based in Virginia, bringing a lifetime of hands-on sailing experience to S&J Yachts. Growing up in Virginia and spending summers on the Chesapeake Bay, Jason developed a deep love for the water. He learned to sail from his father, who restored a classic Bristol boat that was sailed by three generations. Early experiences sailing Lasers at Fishing Bay Yacht Club honed his skills and fostered a lifelong passion for boating.
With firsthand experience maintaining and managing his own boats—including his current Island Packet, which he sails with his family—Jason understands the commitment it takes to keep a yacht in prime condition. This practical knowledge allows him to provide clients with expert guidance, ensuring they make informed choices that lead to years of enjoyment on the water.
Jason is known for his straightforward approach and thorough research. He focuses on providing clear, reliable information and advice that fits each client’s needs. With a solid understanding of different boat models and maintenance, Jason helps clients make confident and informed decisions. His summers in Deltaville and time spent exploring the Northern Neck near Reedville have given him valuable local knowledge and a strong connection to the Chesapeake Bay.
A graduate of the College of Charleston, Jason deepened his understanding of maritime culture while staying connected to the boating community. Outside of sailing, he enjoys home improvement projects and spending quality time with his family.
