A decade after launching the Discovery 55, John and Caroline Charnley had another dream of sailing across the Atlantic and up the Eastern Seaboard of the USA aboard a different kind of yacht—a catamaran. The new yacht would have the same luxury as the Discovery monohulls they had created, in a spacious and stable package. Sleek in appearance, responsive to handle and fast to sail, Bluewater Catamarans deliver the same exceptional construction and ocean cruising capabilities as their monohull sister yachts built at Discovery Shipyard in Southampton, U.K., in a more spacious layout. Each Bluewater yacht is bespoke and built to the very highest quality and craftsmanship to provide a thing of beauty and sound investment, with enduring value.

Features of the Bluewater 50
The new Bluewater 50 catamaran, an exciting design by highly acclaimed naval architect Bill Dixon, features a central cockpit aft forming an ideal seating/entertaining area with direct access to the galley and saloon flanked by two luxurious sunbeds. An additional recessed seating area forward offers an ideal location for socializing or, with its excellent visibility, just watching the world go by. It even comes complete with an adjacent hot tub. The saloon has a dining area forward with adjacent forward-facing navigation station, and the galley area aft is equipped to a very high specification. The grand owner’s suite occupies the entire port hull with the starboard hull hosting fore and aft private suites for guests. The Bluewater 50 comes complete with self-tacking jib and in-mast reefing main (vertically battened). All lines lead aft to push-button winches making it delightfully easy to sail and giving great performance. The raised helm is located within the cockpit creating a secure position while providing a great vantage point when maneuvering.
And coming soon…the Bluewater 60. Stay tuned for more information.
