04Description
"Double Down"
is a Bavaria C45 designed by the Cossutti Yacht Group. Their goal being to create a boat had both balanced performance yet comfortable while both at dockside and under way. This yacht is well equipped and has been well cared for by her knowledgeable owner. She is ready to go now, not later.
If you are looking for a yacht like this, your challenge will be:
to find a more comfortable, great preforming yacht in this size and price range.
WALK-THROUGH
As one approaches the Bavaria 45 from the stern the first thing that is quite evident is her wide transom, and with the push of a button her full width swim platform lowers to greet you. As you step aboard you will notice the dingy garage that becomes visible when the swim platform is down. Above this space is a unique wet bar which has a sink, built in BBQ that are both covered when not in use forming a full width stern seat and on the cockpit side is a stainless steel refrigerated draw making it easy for out door entertaining.
Now, one easy step up you're now in the cockpit. You will quickly note a slightly different layout in that the cockpit informally divided into a working area and guest area. The boat has twin wheels along with dual instrument sets one for each helm. The electric winches have been moved further aft than usual so the helmsman can operate either of them from the helm and not interfere with your guests. Cockpit table is also divided into two separate dropleaf tables allowing for an uninterrupted passage from the swim platform to the companionway. At the forward end of the tables there is a large floor hatch designated for a life raft and two large lockers beneath the port and starboard seat.
Moving forward you will note the very wide, uncluttered side decks, a coach roof stainless steel handrail and full double lifelines provide security when working on the foredeck. You may also note when on the cabin top the eight flush mounted hatches (nothing to trip on). At the bow is a large sail locker and windlass with separate chain locker.
As you descend the wide companionway stairs, you are greeted with a cabin that appears much larger than would be expected on a boat of this size. Bavaria’s hull design including large panoramic hull ports and overhead hatches the space is flooded with natural light. To port is a large L-shaped galley. For the cooks out there, this galley has more uninterrupted counter space than most. Cold storage is handled with a refrigerated stainless-steel drawer and an additional top load refrigerator as well as a stainless-steel freezer drawer for frozen food. Cooking is handled with a three-burner propane stove with oven and a built-in microwave for those quick warm-ups and reheat meals. For prep and to clean up afterward a stainless-steel double bowl sink. There is plenty of storage both above and below the counter.
If you go aft through the galley, you find yourself in one of two almost identical aft cabins. Due to the beam carried all the way aft both cabins have large berths, large hanging and storage lockers. For those who are tall these cabins both provide great headroom as well as floor space to move around in comfort.
Opposite the galley is the day head. This compartment is quite large with plenty of headroom and a separate stall shower with door. There is a large head vanity with storage below and a mirrored storage cabinet above and a recessed sink. The toilet is a fresh water electric flush unit.
Now back at the base of the companionway and looking forward is the salon. In this area to port is a large dinette table which can be lowed to become the 4th berth. There is U-shaped seating and an adjustable slide-out bench which provides comfortable seating on all sides of the table. To starboard is a straight settee providing seating for two and doubles as seating the nave station. This seating provides storage beneath as well as behind seatbacks as well as upper-level cabinets the full length of both port and starboard sides of the salon. With the use of light-colored wood, off white cushions as well as overhead hatches, hull and coach roof windows for natural light makeing this a bright, cheerful space.
Forward of the salon is the owner’s cabin with a queen size “Island Berth” the centerpiece of this cabin. There is plenty of storage to both port and starboard including upper level cabinets that run full length of this cabin for easy access storage. The owner has his own private head of a unique design. The toilet and sink is located on the starboard side and the separate stall shower is located on the port side. The toilet is also a fresh water electric flush as well.
This yacht uses an extensive amount of light-colored wood through-out giving her a more open feeling and a laminate teak and holly look sole. This adds a more traditional feel as well as a more durable and easy-care surface. This yacht is in excellent condition and well maintained by a knowledgeable owner.
If your plans are to head south this winter,
she is ready to go.
