04Description
The Pearson 31 (Designed by William Shaw) has become a modern classic performance cruiser with a hull that is beamier, flatter with less bow and stern overhangs resulting in a comfortable interior without sacrificing performance. Her mast head, sloop rig is taller than earlier designs and with a shorter boom, she drives easily under sail and power. With a 3'-11" draft you can get into the skinny waters of our favorite Chesapeake anchorages while still able to point well. Plus, she has a very reliable Yanmar diesel to get you there when the wind dies. The 31 is a successful club PHRF racer.
Melteme is a great sailboat to weekend with family and friends to your favorite gunk hole or to get into some club racing. She has been loved and shows it. Seller has purchased a larger boat and is planning to do more longer range cruising.
Accommodations & Walkthru
The Pearson 31 has a larger and more comfortable feel than similar boats of her age with room to rest, relax & entertain at anchor or while sailing. The Vee Berth allows a couple a good night's sleep. The Quarterberth and Saloon add additional accomodations.
The Saloon is great for dining and entertaining with elbow room and great ventillation.
The Galley is efficiently designed for properly feeding family and friends with the help of a clever combination large ice box and chart table.
Mealtime's Head is private, well ventilated with room to shower and good storage.
This Pearson 31 will get you to your favorite anchorage or around the "cans" safely and comfortably.
