For those who want something beyond a classic. This is a boat for those whose favorite movies where Blackbeard the Pirate, Pirates of the Caribbean and the like. This is for those with a little pirate in their soul. She is not a yacht quality boat but a ruff and tumble boat that is every bit of just what she looks like...... A PIRATE SHIP.
She has been used in New York for the Op Sail celebration, Baltimore for a re-enactment battle at Fort McHenry and for youth services as a boat used for adventure-challenge therapy as well as a private yacht for a trip to the Caribbean.

The popular Bounty, built by MGM Studios in 1960 for the movie "Mutiny on the Bounty," will join the Class A square riggers, as will several smaller vessels, including the 80-foot schooner Adirondack, built on the Hudson in the Scarano Boat Building Yard in Albany. We also expect to
welcome the new 65-foot brig "Pride of MANY now "Lioness", a replica of a Spanish galleon that is named after the Mid-Atlantic Network of Youth and Family Services and owned by Youth Services of Bucks County, Inc., which sails it with the mission of demonstrating adventure-challenge therapy.
Looking for a boat that will demand everyones attentiion when you arrive and have a whole lot of fun doing it, then this is your boat. Pristine she is not....yacht quality she is not and not ment to be...... but more fun can be had arriving aboard her than almost anything elce afloat.
A pirate ship she is.
Rig
The "Lioness" though designed as a 90' barque rig she was designed to be handled by a small crew. Her hull and and deck are steel with a synthetic wood planking over the steel for a authentic rugged appearance. The three masts are aluminum with all sails on Harken roller furling systems. Total sail area is 6,000 square feet.
Barque or Bark , usually a three masted vessel, the fore and main masts square rigged and the mizzen mast or after mast rigged fore and aft. The four masted barque was a relatively common rig on the oceans, but only two were built in Canada. The John M. Blaikie was launched in 1885 at Great Village, and the Kings County launched in 1890 at Kingsport. The barque was a popular rig, and more of this type were built than all other square rigs combined. The big Maitland barque Calburga was the last British North American square rigger of large tonnage to be on the Canadian registry; she was lost off the coast of Wales in November 1915.
Accommodations
This boat has a fore and aft access to below decks. The aft stairs brings you directing in the center of the three main areas below..... nav table, head, galley and salon/ dining just aft of this area.
The aft head is to your left as entering with a toilet and sink with a large counter top and storage below. Just to your right or in the center of the ship is the nav area. This are was created from an old Victorian church pew and organ frame. Now facing aft is the salon/ dining area. This space is the full width of the hull with a ugh U-shaped settee with the focal point being a table large enough to seat 8 to 10 people. Moving forward and to port is the galley. The galley contains a large open counter area with plenty of storage cabinets both above and below. For the grub prep there is a 3 burner stove with oven and a Stainless Steel range hood. For the crew that can't wait there is a built in microwave oven. Cold food storage is provided by an over-under 2 door refrigerator/ freezer.
Moving forward on the right is the mechanical / electrical cabin. This space contains the main bracer panels for both 120v shore power and generator as well as the generator controls and gauges. Inverter is located in this space as well as the main 12v. breaker panels and switches. Many of the overboard discharge through hulls and sea cocks are also located in this space as well. There is also ample work space and a stand up 10 drawer tool cabinet.
Now back in the passageway to port is a bunk room containing two bunk beds and storage for this area.
Moving forward is the main sleeping area. Currently this are contains 6 bunks (this was at one time the owner’s state room with a large island berth but was converted to bunks when used for the youth services project). This space is very large and full width of the boat. Passing through this area and to starboard is the forward head. This head contains a full size tub with shower, toilet and sink with larger counter top.
